The Village Initiative

We are excited to invite you to be part of a bold new initiative — Harboring Great Tastes, Naturally — celebrating the rich variety of dining, and drinking experiences that make Winthrop Harbor a true hidden gem on Lake Michigan.

Harboring Great Tastes, Naturally is designed to highlight the unique businesses that give Winthrop Harbor its local flavor, attracting both our neighbors and visitors from throughout the region. From cozy cafés and vibrant taverns to beloved family restaurants and our licensed cannabis dispensary, Winthrop Harbor offers welcoming, memorable experiences that can’t be found anywhere else — and it’s time to share that story.

We are proud to announce that this program includes a collaboration with North Point Marina to help showcase our community even further. Through joint marketing efforts, we will encourage boaters and marina visitors to explore inland, discover our vibrant businesses, and experience the authentic tastes and hospitality of Winthrop Harbor. After a day on the water, there’s no better way to relax than to enjoy a great meal, a handcrafted drink, or explore our local offerings.

Why Participate?
By joining this program, your business will be featured in a comprehensive marketing campaign, including:

• Printed and digital guides promoting participating locations, available both in town and at North Point Marina.

• Social media spotlights reaching regional audiences and marina visitors.

• Village website features with direct links to your business page(See Framework Below)

• Cross-promotion with North Point Marina communications, reaching seasonal boaters, visitors, and tourists.

• Advertising at the North Point Marina

How It Works:
Participation is free. All we ask is that you:

• Complete the attached participation form with your business information and highlight any specialty items or services.

• Help promote the program through your own channels when possible.

• Consider participating in occasional promotions that encourage locals, visitors, and boaters to explore all Winthrop Harbor has to offer.

• The Village will be assisting businesses with promotional videos.   

Together, we can build excitement, attract new customers, and position Winthrop Harbor as a must-visit destination where great tastes and unique experiences are found naturally.
